How can we help?
Email support
Include your iPhone model, your TV model and the Glide version (Settings → Version). We’ll get back to you as soon as we can.
Connecting to your TV
Glide can’t find my TV
- Turn the TV on and make sure it’s connected to Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
- Put your iPhone on the same network as the TV. Guest networks and some mesh “isolation” settings block devices from seeing each other.
- Check iPhone Settings → Glide Remote → Local Network is on.
- Add the TV manually with its IP address. On most Samsung TVs you’ll find it under Settings → General → Network → Network Status → IP Settings.
The TV never asks me to allow Glide
- Look for the permission pop-up on the TV right after you connect and choose Allow.
- If you chose Deny before, open the TV’s device connection settings (often Settings → General → External Device Manager → Device Connection Manager → Device List) and allow or remove “Glide Remote”, then connect again.
- Make sure Access Notification is on in the same menu.
It connected before but now says it can’t reach the TV
- Tap Reconnect in the connection help screen.
- Your router may have given the TV a new IP address. Remove the TV in Glide and find it again, or reserve a fixed IP for the TV in your router.
- A TV in deep standby may not respond. Try Wake TV or turn it on with its own remote.
Turning the TV on (Wake)
Wake works only on supported TVs in network standby. On the TV, turn on Power On with Mobile (usually under Settings → General → Network → Expert Settings). A TV unplugged or switched off at the wall can’t be woken over the network, and some routers stop delivering wake packets after the TV has been off for a long time.
TV apps
- Glide only shows apps your TV confirms are installed. If an app is missing, open All apps and tap Refresh.
- If an app doesn’t open, make sure it’s up to date on the TV. Some apps can’t be launched remotely on certain models.
Typing and dictation
- First open a search or text field in the app on your TV, so the TV’s keyboard is showing. Then tap Type in Glide.
- Some apps use their own on-screen keyboard that doesn’t accept typed text. In those, use the Glide pad to pick letters.
- For dictation, allow Microphone and Speech Recognition in iPhone Settings → Glide Remote.
Glide Pro and purchases
Restore Glide Pro
Open Glide → Settings → Restore Purchases, signed in with the Apple Account you used to buy it.
The free trial
The 3-day trial is offered after your first real TV connection. It ends on its own after 72 hours and never charges you.
Refunds
Purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Compatibility
Glide Remote is for iPhone and works with compatible Samsung Smart TVs (Tizen) on the same local network. Features vary by TV model and year. Other TV brands aren’t supported yet. Glide is an independent app and isn’t affiliated with Samsung.
