Privacy Policy
The short version
- We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal data. Glide has no account, no sign-up and no servers of its own.
- There are no ads, no analytics, no tracking and no third-party SDKs in the app.
- Remote commands and text you send go directly from your iPhone to your TV over your home Wi-Fi.
- Your saved TVs, settings and TV approval stay on your iPhone.
- Dictation uses Apple’s speech recognition. Purchases are handled by Apple.
1. Who we are
Glide Remote (“Glide”, “we”, “us”) is an independent iPhone app that lets you control compatible Samsung Smart TVs on your home network. This policy explains what information the app and this website handle, and how. If you have any questions, email support@moneybond.app.
2. What we collect
Nothing, through the app. Glide does not send any personal data, usage data, diagnostics, identifiers or location to us or to any analytics or advertising service. We don’t operate servers for the app, and we have no way to see how you use it, which TV you own or what you watch.
The app’s privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.
3. Data stored on your iPhone
To work, Glide keeps a small amount of information locally on your device. It is not sent to us.
| What | Why | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Saved TVs: name, model, IP address and, if you use Wake, the TV’s network (MAC) address | To reconnect to your TVs and wake them | App storage on your iPhone |
| TV approval (pairing token) | So your TV doesn’t ask for permission every time | iOS Keychain on your iPhone |
| Apps found on each TV and your pinned apps | To show your app shortcuts instantly | App storage on your iPhone |
| Recent text phrases (only if you turn on “Save to recents”) | To resend searches you use often | App storage on your iPhone |
| Preferences: theme, navigation style, haptics, screen awake | To remember your settings | App storage on your iPhone |
| Glide Pro status | To show Pro controls quickly on launch. Apple’s StoreKit remains the source of truth. | App storage on your iPhone |
You can remove a saved TV in the app (swipe it away in the TV list), which also removes its saved app list. Recent phrases are only saved when you choose to. Deleting Glide removes its app storage from your iPhone. iOS may keep Keychain items after an app is deleted; they can only be read by Glide and contain only TV approval tokens.
If you use iCloud or device backups, iOS may include this local data in your backup, under Apple’s terms. We never have access to it.
4. Communication with your TV
Glide communicates directly with your TV over your local network. This includes:
- Discovery: briefly checking addresses on your Wi-Fi network to find Samsung TVs.
- Remote control: sending key presses, app launch requests and the text you choose to send. Glide identifies itself to your TV as “Glide Remote”.
- App detection: asking your TV which apps are installed.
- Wake: sending a standard wake-on-LAN packet to the TV’s network address, if you use Wake.
This traffic stays on your home network and is never routed through us. Your TV is made by Samsung and handles data according to Samsung’s own privacy terms. Apps you open on your TV, such as streaming services, have their own privacy policies.
5. Permissions
- Local Network — required to find and control your TV on your Wi-Fi.
- Microphone — used only while you are dictating text to send to your TV. Optional.
- Speech Recognition — used to turn your dictation into text. Optional.
Glide does not use your location, contacts, photos, camera or advertising identifier. You can change these permissions any time in iPhone Settings → Glide Remote.
6. Dictation and speech
When you tap the microphone, Glide uses Apple’s Speech framework to transcribe what you say. Depending on your language and device, Apple may process the audio on your iPhone or on Apple’s servers, under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We never receive your audio or the transcript.
The transcript appears in the app for you to review and edit. It is only sent to your TV when you tap Send. Glide listens only while dictation is active and stops when you close the typing screen.
7. Purchases
Glide Pro and the free trial are in-app purchases processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your name, email address, payment details or Apple Account information. The app checks Apple-signed transaction records on your device to unlock Pro features. App Store Connect gives us aggregated, non-identifying sales reports.
8. Third parties
Glide includes no third-party SDKs, ad networks or analytics tools. The only outside services involved are Apple’s (App Store, StoreKit and, for dictation, Speech Recognition) and your own TV. We do not sell or share personal information with anyone.
Apple may give developers crash reports and usage statistics only if you have chosen to share them with app developers in iPhone Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. These reports are anonymous, and we use them only to fix problems.
9. Support emails
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message. We use it only to answer you and help with your issue. We don’t add you to mailing lists or share your email. We delete support conversations when they are no longer needed.
10. This website
This website uses no cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and loads no third-party fonts or content. It is hosted on Vercel, which, like any web host, may process basic technical information such as your IP address and browser type in server logs to deliver and secure the site. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
11. Children
Glide is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children under 13. Because we don’t collect personal data from anyone, we don’t knowingly collect it from children.
12. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act may give you rights to access, correct or delete your personal data. Since the app’s data stays on your iPhone and we hold none of it, you are in control:
- Remove saved TVs inside the app, and leave “Save to recents” off if you don’t want phrases kept.
- Turn off Local Network, Microphone or Speech Recognition access in iPhone Settings.
- Delete the app to remove its stored data.
For anything relating to support emails you have sent us, contact us and we will help.
13. Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
